Fremont Scrapes Out 3-1 Win
|
The Fremont Ambassadors earned a close win over the St. Catharines Blue Jays, thanks in part to Jorge Torres. The Fremont right-hander played a key role in the 3-1 victory. Torres got the win, improving to 1-1. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. The win gives the Ambassadors a record of 8-6.
Fremont used the timely hitting of Ryan Clark to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ambassadors on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If you chase it, you need to get it," said Fremont skipper Dave Sullivan.
