Extra-Inning Win by Rockets Over Flyers
The Huntsville Rockets beat the Newark Flyers, 8-7, in 13 innings at Ballpark of Austin. Huntsville third baseman Bob Sallee had an outstanding performance. He was 3-5 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win was credited to 20-year old right-handed pitcher Steve Gallagher in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ben Cox took the loss. The loss puts Newark at 7-5.

The game-ending blow was delivered by Jesus Belcher in the bottom of the 13th. That's when he hit a solo home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Ben Cox to win it for Huntsville and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.

"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Sallee.
