Adam Monteleone pitched a gem in leading Santa Rosa to a 2-1 victory over the Kansas City Dust Devils. The winner was Santa Rosa reliever Chris Gabbitas, now 2-0. The loser was Jim Unknown. The win brings the Desperados to 8-3, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
Santa Rosa got a jolt from Mark White. The first baseman ripped a solo home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it brought the house down.
"We were determined to pick up this win," said Monteleone.
