Dust Devils Defeat Desperados, 7-4
|
The Kansas City Dust Devils picked up a win at Kansas City Grounds, knocking off the Santa Rosa Desperados, 7-4. Starting pitcher Etienne Erbetto was a big reason why. Jim Brooks picked up the win in relief for Kansas City, while Matt Westerman took the loss. Kansas City now has a record of 4-5.
Eric Hying played the role of hero for Kansas City. In the bottom of the tenth, he launched a grand slam home run off Matt Westerman to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.
"The fans went nuts at the end," Hying said.
