Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown St. Catharines Blue Jays take on the Huntsville Rockets.

Tom Steiner led Huntsville to a win over St. Catharines. The final score was 9-4. Steiner scored 2 times, going 4 for 5. He also knocked in 1 run batted in. The winning pitcher was Morgan Jenkins. He tossed 81 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits.

The Rockets got an important contribution from right fielder Ron Eckhardt, who in the top of the second punched a first pitch cutter to left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Rockets ahead, 5-1.
