Fremont got a valiant performance from pitcher Jose Ramirez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Deltaville Deltas. Deltaville won the game, 5-4. Ramirez threw 7.1 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Jim Unknown picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Jim Unknown was tagged with the loss. Fremont drops to 2-6.

It could have been a different outcome for Deltaville, had it not been for Brett Caroll, the 22-year old catcher . Caroll contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 12th inning to put Deltaville up, 5-4.

"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Caroll. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
