Blue Jays Slap 5-4 Loss on Santa Rosa
|
The St. Catharines Blue Jays topped the Santa Rosa Desperados, 5-4, in Northern A action at Engineers Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to St. Catharines pitcher and Leesburg, Florida, native Mike Richert. The win has St. Catharines at 2-3.
Mike Wisler, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2020 draft, took Santa Rosa hurler Steve Shewmaker deep in the bottom of the seventh. His solo home run put the Blue Jays on top, 3-2. In all, Wisler had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Mike was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said St. Catharines manager Freddy Coss.
