Rockets Roll to 8-3 Win Over Desperados
|
The Huntsville Rockets defeated the Santa Rosa Desperados, 8-3, at Ballpark of Austin. Huntsville third baseman Glenn Valentine had a superb performance. He was 2 for 2 with a triple and 2 walks, while scoring 2. The winning pitcher was Jimmy Redmond. He tossed 86 pitches over 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits. Picking up his 2nd save was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Redmond.
Valentine contributed in the bottom of the fourth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring triple. It was one at-bat among others that helped Huntsville get the win.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Valentine.
Huntsville has a record of 3-2.
