Pope Delivers Walk-Off Win for Miners
David Turner had a strong outing for the Glace Bay Miners against the San Antonio Stallions at Miners Memorial Bowl. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Jim Handshoe, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. The win moves Glace Bay to a record of 2-3.

The decisive blow was delivered by Corey Pope in the bottom of the 14th when he hit a 2-run home run off 25-year old left-handed pitcher Brandon Dix to win the game for Glace Bay. The home crowd went nuts.

Turner called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
