Miners Pull Off Thrilling 6-4 Win in Extras
The Glace Bay Miners dealt the St. Catharines Blue Jays a 6-4 loss at Engineers Ballpark. Corey Pope was the star on offense. He slugged 2 home runs. Tony Longoria earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 2-1. With the win, Glace Bay boosts its record to 5-2.

Had Pope not come through in the top of the 17th, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Pope hit a solo home run. The Miners took the lead, 5-4, and never looked back.
