Dust Devils Turn Back Flyers, 2-0
|
Pitcher Jim Unknown was sensational for the Kansas City Dust Devils in his team's 2-0 triumph over the Newark Flyers. Unknown earned the win. Unknown got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 2 hits and walked 5 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. Jim Unknown wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.
Steve Walton had a big run-scoring triple for the Dust Devils in the bottom of the first inning. With Kansas City leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Kyle Sandor and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dust Devils ahead, 2-0.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Unknown.
Newark, with the loss, is still a robust 5-2.
