Glace Bay Stopped, 5-2, by Huntsville
|
Huntsville beat Glace Bay on the strength of starting pitcher Orlando Gonzalez's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. Gonzalez, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. The win gives Huntsville a record of 4-3.
In the bottom of the third, 22-year old left fielder Joe Bronson hit a 2-run home run. The 1st home run of the season for the Huntsville center fielder put the Rockets on top, 4-2.
Said losing manager Carlos Acevedo: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
