Miners Suffer 6-1 Loss to Grand Rapids
The Grand Rapids Jet Hawks beat the Glace Bay Miners, 6-1, at Jet Hawks Ballpark. The Jet Hawks got a fine performance from catcher Jeff Jacob, who was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The defeat makes Glace Bay 1-2.

The Jet Hawks got a big at-bat from shortstop Raul Corvera. For the game, Corvera went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Grand Rapids a 2-1 lead.
