Cougars Rebuff Rotters, 4-2

The Rohnert Park Cougars faced a tough opponent in Riverside pitcher Chris Lowe, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Rotters Ballpark by a final score of 4-2. Lowe went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Rohnert Park reliever Kyle Yearwood was the winner. His record is now 3-5. The losing pitcher was Jim Autore. Rohnert Park's record now stands at 62-73, placing them 5th in the Eastern AA Southen Division.
Luke Bourque delivered a big hit for Rohnert Park. The left fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cougars ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
Said losing manager Hermenegildo Fernando: "I think Susan Sarandon said it, 'Hit it where they ain't.' We didn't do a very good job of that tonight."
