No one was more impactful than Alex Melo in the 5-0 Encinitas win over Mescalero. Melo, who is tied for 4th in the E-AA in hits with 142, went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Eskimo Brothers, at 95-36, have a comfortable 17-game lead in their division.

In the bottom of the third, Melo had a grand slam home run for Encinitas. It was his 24th home run of the season and put the Eskimo Brothers on top, 4-0.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Encinitas manager Logan Greening. "Our pregame was pretty good."
