Aaron Lasco, who is tied for 2nd in the E-AA in wins with 11, never let the Wildthings get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Dread Kings to a win, 5-1. Luke Getts got credit for the save for Boise. It was his 15th of the year. The Dread Kings, now 74-52, have won 4 in a row.
Tim Plowman dealt the Wildthings a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Boise leading 1-0, Plowman hit a 1-2 curveball for a 2-run single.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Plowman said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
