The Aurora Suns were defeated, 3-2, by the Mobile Yard Dogs at Suns Field, even though Charlie Hunter pitched well for Aurora. Hunter Saakadze got credit for the save for Mobile. It was his 26th of the year. The 4th-place Suns now sit at 61-63.

Mobile left fielder Tony Thomas landed a blow when he belted a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth. It was his 16th home run of the season. With it, the Yard Dogs took a 3-0 lead.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Thomas told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
