Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Mountaineers
|
The Winchester Mountaineers eked out a 1-0 win versus the Alcoa Millionaires at Mountaineers Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Sandy Ibanez. He was terrific. Winchester reliever Travis Espinoza picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Robby Harroun took the loss. The losses continue to mount for Alcoa, which has now dropped 7 in a row.
Gregg Dier delivered a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the tenth to win it for the Mountaineers. For the game, Dier drew 1 walk.
"When Sandy's on, he's on," said Winchester manager Mitchell Young.
