The Traverse City Bears stopped the Riverside Rotters, 8-6, at Greensboro Grounds. The Bears got a big game from Kevin Hilfiker, who was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Traverse City reliever Dale Kneale got the win, raising his record to 4-4. Hilfiker contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Traverse City in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 3-2, Hilfiker took a fastball from Chris Lowe and stroked the home run to right. His 29th home run of the season allowed the Bears to leap in front, 5-3.
