Millionaires Beat Yard Dogs, 4-2
|
The Alcoa Millionaires defeated the Mobile Yard Dogs, 4-2, at Mobile Grounds. Alcoa was led by 24-year old catcher Justin Kreger, who went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Alex Fernandez earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4 innings. He upped his record to 8-7. Roberto Archuleta earned his 3rd save, after closing out the game.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Kreger hit a 3-run home run off Willie Bahena. It propelled the Millionaires into the lead, 3-0.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Alcoa manager .
Alcoa is in third place in the Eastern AA Northern Division with a record of 52-56.
