Dennis, Mountaineers Too Much for Wildthings
Behind a solid performance from shortstop Bill Dennis, the Winchester Mountaineers defeated the Washington Wildthings, 9-3. Dennis went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5 for the Mountaineers. The winner in relief was Scott Sauer. He is now 6-0. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 3.2 innings. The first-place Mountaineers now have a win-loss record of 75-27.
