Clemons Slugs 3 Homers, Wildthings Get 10-6 Win

The Washington Wildthings powered past the Corpus Christi Mermen, 10-6, at Mermen Field. Randy Clemons belted 3 home runs, while adding 7 RBI and scoring three times, to lead the charge. Jim Unknown collected save number 1. With the win, the Washington record is 21-66.
Washington used a clutch hit from Steve Parkinson to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Wildthings ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Wildthings manager Brendan Rees. "This one was nice to get."
