Gangsters Stumble, Lose to Scorpions
Starting pitcher Mike Hammond pitched well enough to help the Syracuse Scorpions beat the Chicago Gangsters, 11-4. Mike Arnerich was credited with the save for Syracuse, his 1st of the season. The Scorpions, with just their 7th win in 25 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.

The Scorpions got an important contribution from second baseman Alex Cruz, who in the bottom of the second hit a curveball to left-center for a bases-clearing double. It was his 8th double of the season and put the Scorpions ahead, 6-0.

"Solid performance from our side," said Scorpions manager Dustin Brewer.
