Wildthings Rally Late to Nip Millionaires
|
The Washington Wildthings and Alcoa Millionaires obliged fans looking for a good time.
Javon Johnson did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Alcoa Millionaires from being beaten, 8-7, to the Washington Wildthings at Red Barons Ballpark. Johnson went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Washington is now 17-58. Alcoa is 26-49.
Mike Fleck was the walk-off hero for Washington. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Wildthings first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Feels good to get the job done," Fleck said after the game.
