Encinitas Tacks 6-1 Loss on Washington
|
At Red Barons Ballpark, the Washington Wildthings and Encinitas Eskimo Brothers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Washington Wildthings had to reckon with Encinitas Eskimo Brothers hurler Chi-yong Har. Har, who is tied for 8th in the E-AA with a 9.0 K/9 rate, overwhelmed the opposition in the 6-1 Eskimo Brothers triumph. Har, the winner, moves to 5-0. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks.
The Eskimo Brothers got a big hit from designated hitter Justin Ware. Facing Washington pitcher Felix Acosta in the top of the fifth, Ware pounded a 2-run home run to center. His 2nd home run of the season put the Eskimo Brothers ahead, 4-1.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Ware.
Encinitas is now 45-21.
