Dread Kings Sneak Past Bears, 14-13
The Boise Dread Kings outlasted Matt Lawson and the Traverse City Bears, 14-13. Lawson was impressive in the loss. The Traverse City first baseman was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Boise pitcher Joey Byler earned the win, hiking his record to 2-3. Nathan Fitzkee suffered the loss. The Dread Kings saw their win-loss record go to 35-30. At the same time, the Bears fell to 16-49.

Boise took the lead, 14-13, on Matt Mims's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Mims hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Traverse City pitcher Nathan Fitzkee crestfallen.

Traverse City manager Zach Hildebrant said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score that many runs, you expect to win the game."
