Suns Rally Late to Clip Alcoa
|
The Aurora Suns got a good effort from starter Joel Atkinson in defeating the Alcoa Millionaires at Suns Field. The final score was 3-2. Aurora reliever Travis Brown picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. John Holcombe was saddled with the loss. The Millionaires have now dropped 5 straight.
Juan Mungarro went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Aurora. The 27-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off John Holcombe. It was his 13th RBI of the season.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Aurora manager Oscar Figeroa.
