Traverse City Falters Again, Loses, 7-3, to Washington
Washington starter Tokuyuki Matsuura pitched well against the Traverse City Bears at Red Barons Ballpark. The left-hander led his team to a win, 7-3. Washington reliever Tokuyuki Matsuura got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Michael Brumfield was tagged with the loss. The Bears, at 15-30, have lost 8 straight games.

Mike Fleck had a big 2-run double for the Wildthings in the bottom of the first inning. With Washington trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Michael Brumfield, who is tied for 8th in the E-AA in strikeouts with 49, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wildthings ahead, 2-1.
