Loss Tarnishes Fine Performance by Garber
Rohnert Park left fielder Kevin Garber was sensational. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Riverside beat the Cougars, 9-8. The win makes Riverside 24-14.

The Rotters got an important contribution from left fielder Bobby Modarelli, who in the top of the ninth hit a curveball to left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Rotters ahead, 9-4.

Modarelli expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
