Mobile Listless in 8-1 Loss
|
Mesa and Mobile got after it at Razor Sharks Ballpark.
Behind a fine performance from Matt Peters, the Mesa Razor Sharks knocked off the Mobile Yard Dogs, 8-1. Peters went 1 for 1 with a home run and 3 walks for the Razor Sharks. Alex Gomez, the winning pitcher, is now 5-1. He went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 2.
Tyler Welsh had a big grand slam home run for the Razor Sharks in the bottom of the third inning. With Mesa leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a circle change from Jesse Aggas, who is tied for 7th in the E-AA in quality starts with 4, and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Razor Sharks ahead, 6-0.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Peters said.
The Razor Sharks improved to a lofty 27-10.
