Gangsters Lose to Scorpions, 9-7
The Syracuse Scorpions withstood a fine game by Chicago right fielder Justin Wish at Scorpion Stadium, to upend the Gangsters, 9-7. Wish went 2-2 with 2 singles and 3 walks, while scoring 2. The Scorpions, with only their 5th win in 22 games, have not had much to write home about in 2026.

The Gangsters had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Scorpions going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old left fielder Chris Service came to the plate. Service hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch slider from Chicago hurler Brian Kauppinen. It was Service's 9th double of the year.

"It's nice to see a lot of guys make contributions," said Scorpions manager Dustin Brewer.
