A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Hickory Crawdads and Randolph Prairie Thunder.

The Hickory Crawdads picked up a win at Prairie Thunder Ballpark, downing the Randolph Prairie Thunder, 7-1. On the mound for Hickory was left-hander Josh Riese, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Crawdads lead the Stripes Conference West Division by 5½ games.

Juan Miranda, the Hickory first baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 3-0, Crawdads. For the game, Miranda was 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Riese.
