Spokane got a strong outing from Aaron O'Brien as the Selects defeated the Denver Pilots, 1-0, at Selects Ballpark. The Selects improved to 28-20.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Selects had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the sixth, when designated hitter Marc McCain hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Dave Barncord and made the score 1-0, Selects. McCain went 1 for 3.

"You can never predict what'll happen," McCain said. "That's why you play the game."
