Pilots Need Extra Frames to Get Past Selects
Denver Pilots starter Chris Marquis was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Spokane Selects, 4-1. Yes, it was a win for Denver; but their 16-30 record is still nothing to boast about.

Francisco Garcia delivered a big hit for Denver. The right fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Pilots ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"Chris did a tremendous job," said Denver manager Byung-sik Lee.
