Dillonvale Stumbles Again, Falls, 7-2, to Hickory
|
The Hickory Crawdads beat the Dillonvale Indians, 7-2, with major props going to catcher Jeff Greathouse. On the day, Greathouse went 2-2 with 2 home runs and a walk for the Crawdads. Roy Doub stitched up the save, his 2nd. The losses continue to add up for Dillonvale, having now dropped 8 straight.
Nate Roberts had a big 2-run home run for the Crawdads in the bottom of the second inning. With Hickory leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from Jesus Garcia and swatted a home run to center. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Crawdads ahead, 3-0.
"We've got to kick it in gear soon," said Dillonvale manager Markus Mensink.
