Drooping Indians Lose 10th Straight
The Hickory Crawdads spoiled a good performance by Dillonvale first baseman Matt Peterson, bumping off Dillonvale, 6-5, at Black Diamonds Ballpark. Peterson went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Hickory reliever Ricardo Martinez picked up the win, raising his record to 2-3. Bill Roderick was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was Brian Aldridge, his 13th.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Josh Botello? The Hickory right fielder had a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put the Crawdads on top, 2-0. For the game, Botello had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"I felt good up there," said Botello. "I saw the ball well."

The 15-30 Indians have lost 10 consecutive games.
