Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Hickory Crawdads and Dillonvale Indians.

The Hickory Crawdads easily defeated the Dillonvale Indians, 13-3, at Black Diamonds Ballpark, with designated hitter Joe Martin a main contributor to the win. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for Hickory. Jerome Abney was credited with the save for Hickory, his 2nd of the season.

Hickory used the stroke of Mike D'Urso to get the win. The catcher hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Crawdads ahead, 9-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We got our butts kicked," said Dillonvale manager Armando Cisneros.

With the win, Hickory has a record of 23-22. Dillonvale falls to 7-38.
