Gaylord Slugs Prairie Thunder to 6-5 Win
|
Randolph second baseman Matt Gaylord played a vital role in his team's 6-5 conquest of Tucson. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for Randolph. Reliever Brandon Williams picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Oscar Hernandez took the loss. Randolph has now won 5 in a row.
Gaylord had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Oscar Hernandez, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Prairie Thunder a 6-5 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Gaylord.
"Feels good to get the job done," Gaylord said after the game.
