Raccoons Stun Prairie Thunder, 6-3

The Tucson Raccoons welcomed the Randolph Prairie Thunder to an afternoon game at Raccoons Ballpark.
The Tucson Raccoons topped the Randolph Prairie Thunder, 6-3, in Stripes Conference action at Raccoons Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Tucson pitcher Alex Mendiola. Carlos Carachure collected save number 11.
The Raccoons got a big at-bat from left fielder Justin Taitt. For the game, Taitt was 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 7th double of the season gave Tucson a 3-2 lead.
"Alex was pounding the zone," said Tucson manager Bill Escobar.
The Raccoons raised their record to 18-26.
