Indians Deal Crawdads 7-4 Defeat
|
The 7-4 Dillonvale win over Hickory was due in large part to Eric Drake. The Indians third baseman was 2-3 with a home run, a triple, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Jim Unknown, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-0. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 5. The win has Dillonvale at 12-31.
Dillonvale took a 4-2 lead on Drake's 2nd triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which he hit off Roy Doub in the top of the seventh, propelled Dillonvale to the win.
"It never gets old," said Drake. "Winning, that is."
