The home team gave the crowd some walk-off drama.
Orono wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Matt Haselden, falling to the Walnut Park Bobcats, 3-2. Haselden threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Orono has now lost 5 consecutive games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Walnut Park designated hitter Bob Gilmore, facing Mike Poussard, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Bobcats the 3-2 win.
Orono manager Mike Sanchez said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
