Bruins Tuck Away 4-2 Win Over Hickory
|
Westwood Bruins starter Randy Lupton turned in a top-notch performance against the Hickory Crawdads at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The result was a win for the Bruins, 4-2. Lupton, now 4-4, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Brad Antol wrapped it up, recording his 7th save.
Making an impact for the home team was Steve Ross. In the bottom of the sixth, the 26-year old shortstop had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 4-2, Bruins.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Westwood skipper Hasan Raif. "I can't complain."
The 4th-place Crawdads have dropped 4 straight games.
