The Fremont Marshalls picked up a win at Hedgehogs Ballpark, knocking off the Ann Arbor Z's, 5-3. On the mound for Fremont was left-hander Chris Mattison, who played a pivotal role in the win. Mattison got the win, improving to 6-1. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Mattison allowed 3 runs. Earning his 5th save of the year was Kurt Neal.

Scott King hit a 2-run double off Aaron Ewing in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Marshalls in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, King had 1 single, while going 2 for 3.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said King.

The win gives Fremont a season record of 23-19.
