Espinoza K's 10 En Route to 2-1 Prairie Thunder Win
|
The Randolph Prairie Thunder used a great performance from Tony Espinoza, who leads the StC in innings pitched with 70.1, to beat the Orono Oaks, 2-1, at University of Maine Stadium. Jarrod Threats nailed down his 15th save. Randolph, at 31-10, sits in first place in the Stripes Conference East Division.
Espinoza was effective for Randolph, seldom allowing the Oaks to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 109 pitches over 8 innings. He limited Orono to just 1 run on 4 hits.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Randolph manager Michael Kelleher said.
