Palm Springs picked up a win at Crawdad Park, bumping off the Hickory Crawdads, 5-4. Pitcher Jose Paredes was a major reason the Heat emerged victorious. Paredes, now 3-4, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 3 runs. So far in 2026, Palm Springs is 14-27.
Palm Springs used a well-timed hit by Manuel Campos to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Heat ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Heat manager Rogelio Sanchez. "This one was nice to get."
