Bobcats Rally Late to Nip Fighting Quakers
|
The Quebec Fighting Quakers could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Chris Stoddard into a win. Instead, the Walnut Park Bobcats prevailed, 3-2. Stoddard threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The win elevated the Bobcats to 23-17.
The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Walnut Park trailing 2-1, Alex Ochoa delivered the decisive blow, stroking a knuckle curve from Andy Swift for a 2-run home run. Ballgame.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Ochoa.
