Pilots Earn 4-2 Win Against Marshalls
|
The Denver Pilots faced a tough opponent in Fremont pitcher Chris Mattison, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Pilots Ballpark by a final score of 4-2. Mattison went 6 innings and allowed no runs. David Pool came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 1-2. Denver now sits in 4th place in the Stripes Conference West Division at 18-19.
Denver won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With two outs and Casey Danis on the mound for Fremont, first baseman Mark Butler hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Pilots fans to their feet.
"Big win," said Butler.
