Fighting Quakers Lose at Home, 10-5
|
The Randolph Prairie Thunder topped the Quebec Fighting Quakers, 10-5, at Toros Ballpark. Randolph right fielder Billy Cyran was a spark plug for the offense. He was 2-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Randolph reliever Joel Clark picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Phil Carroll absorbed the loss. The Prairie Thunder now have a mark of 22-15.
Had Dan Smith not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Smith hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Prairie Thunder.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Smith. "Those qualities define our team."
