New Rochelle and Fremont duked it out and the Purple Wave came out victorious.

The New Rochelle Purple Wave had to overcome a big game from Fremont second baseman John Piscitelli to leave Hedgehogs Ballpark with a victory. And they did, winning, 8-6. Piscitelli went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. New Rochelle reliever Mike Deadrick snagged the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jason Henley shouldered the loss. Keith Hawes notched his 6th save of the season.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Alex Natera? The New Rochelle second baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Purple Wave on top, 7-6. For the game, Natera had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"It's nice to see a lot of guys make contributions," said Purple Wave manager William Gregg.

The Purple Wave, at 18-21, inhabit 5th place in the Stripes Conference East Division.
