The Orono Oaks withstood an impressive performance by New Rochelle center fielder Dave Acosta to defeat the Purple Wave, 8-6, at Ballpark of Lexington. Acosta was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Tim Kondas picked up his 11th save of the season. Orono is now 24-12, while New Rochelle is 21-15.

Orono third baseman Pete Roan contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the ninth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 38th hit of the season and put the Oaks ahead, 8-6.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Oaks manager Mike Sanchez.
