Fighting Quakers Take Down Pilots, 9-6
The Quebec Fighting Quakers and Denver Pilots completed their game despite the inclement weather.

Quebec designated hitter Ben Leonardi collected 5 ribbies while his team bumped off the Denver Pilots, 9-6, in 14 innings. Quebec pitcher Jim Unknown got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Joe Love got the loss.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 14th, until Leonardi delivered big-time for Quebec, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Joe Love. The game-changing hit put the Fighting Quakers on top, 8-6.

"We didn't let this one get away," said Leonardi.

By defeating Denver, the 5th-place Fighting Quakers improved to 17-18.
