Pilots Lose to Spokane, 5-1
|
Spokane and Denver got after it at Selects Ballpark.
Spokane Selects starter Rich Mack turned in a top-notch performance against the Denver Pilots at Selects Ballpark. The result was a win for the Selects, 5-1. Mack, now 3-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run.
The Selects got an important contribution from shortstop Curtis Rittenberry, who in the bottom of the fifth punched a first pitch cutter to left for a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Selects ahead, 4-1.
"Enjoyed this one," Mack told the Spokane Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Selects now have a record of 18-16.
