The Palm Springs Heat weathered a fine game by Hickory second baseman Charlie Paquin to upend the Crawdads, 9-6, at Heat Ballpark. Paquin went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. The Heat saw their record improve to 21-14.

Eric Lilienthal drove in one run for Palm Springs. In the bottom of the sixth, with the teams deadlocked, 5-5, Lilienthal delivered for the Heat. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Palm Springs on top, 6-5.

"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Lilienthal told the Palm Springs News.
