Fighting Quakers Hand Purple Wave 4-1 Loss
Quebec pitcher Edwin Rincones did his part in helping his team defeat the New Rochelle Purple Wave, 4-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Rincones, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up no walks. Brian Kauppinen earned the save, his 5th.

Marty Williams, who is tied for 5th in the StC in bases on balls with 17, had a direct impact on the outcome. Williams contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Quebec up, 3-1.

Williams attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."

With the victory, the Fighting Quakers upped their record to 17-17.
